Sensex trading flat -:- Metal capital goods stocks major losers

Sensex down 0.07 per cent at 22,371 points; Nifty down 0.06 per cent at 6700

At 11.03 a.m., the 30-share BSE index Sensex was down 14.64 points or 0.07 per cent at 22,371.63 and the 50-share NSE index Nifty was down 4.1 points or 0.06 per cent at 6,700.10.

Among BSE sectoral indices, IT index was up 1.38 per cent, followed by TECk 1.06 per cent and consumer durables 0.86 per cent. On the other hand, metal, capital goods and realty indices fell the most by 1.21 per cent, 1.04 per cent and 0.87 per cent, respectively.

TCS, Wipro, ONGC, NTPC and Dr Reddy's were the top five Sensex gainers, while the top five losers were Hindalco, Coal India, BHEL, ITC and Maruti.

Asian stocks swung between gains and losses as investors weighed reports on China’s manufacturing that pointed to weakness in the world’s second-biggest economy.

Nikkei 225 was down 5 points or 0.03 per cent at 14,823, Hang Seng rose 200.37 points or 0.9 per cent to 22,351.53, ASX 200 fell 5.63 points or 0.1 per cent to 5,389.20 and Shanghai gained 13.58 points or 0.67 per cent to 2,046.89.
